# Value-added services

Value-added services (VAS): what a carrier provisions beyond basic calling - ringback tones, conferencing, prepaid and postpaid billing, SMS and location-based services.

Value-added services, also known as VAS, refers to the various 'services' or 'products' that a service provider can provision to its subscribers over and above the core phone call capabilities. Examples of value-added services include the following:

* [Background music injection](/products/tmedia/features-and-solutions/solutions/background-music-injection.md)
* [Conferencing](/products/tmedia/features-and-solutions/solutions/conferencing.md)
* [Location-based services (LBS)](/products/tmedia/features-and-solutions/solutions/location-based-services.md)
* [Prepaid & postpaid calling](/products/tmedia/features-and-solutions/solutions/prepaid-and-postpaid-calling.md)
* [Ringback tones](https://tmediadocs.telcobridges.com/telecom-references/voice-and-media/ringback-tones)
* [SMS](https://tmediadocs.telcobridges.com/telecom-references/ss7-and-signalling/ss7/sms)
* [Unified communications](/products/tmedia/features-and-solutions/solutions/unified-communications.md)
* Voicemail

### TelcoBridges and value-added services

TelcoBridges hardware and software products support the development and delivery of value-added services to subscribers. While many of them can be provisioned via the [Tmedia](/products/tmedia/tmedia.md) family of products, with their on-board application hosts, the Tdev family of devices, such as the TMP6400 and the TMP800 are the real workhorses when it comes to delivering advanced value-added services that tie together subscriber-specific information, multimedia content and other real-time information.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://tmediadocs.telcobridges.com/products/tmedia/features-and-solutions/solutions/value-added-services.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
