# Add persistent static route

This page shows how to add a persistent route to a [Tctrl](https://tmediadocs.telcobridges.com/telecom-references/developer-reference/toolpack-api/tctrl) of a TMG.

\*WARNING\*: This procedure can be use to route the H.248 traffic only. SIP, SIGTRAN and RTP requires another procedure.

## Add static route

Create a file with the interface name

```
vi /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/route-<interface name>
```

Add static routes (the file must contain at least 2 entries, default route for the interface and your static routes) default dev \<network/netmask> via dev

Source: [Static route configuration](http://www.centos.org/docs/5/html/5.1/Deployment_Guide/s1-networkscripts-static-routes.html)

### Example

Adding to reach network 192.168.100.0 with mask 255.255.255.0 using a router at 10.0.0.5 (vlan id 15) vi /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/route-vlan15

Routes: default 10.0.0.1 dev vlan15 192.168.100.0/24 via 10.0.0.5 dev vlan15

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://tmediadocs.telcobridges.com/other-pages/platforms/add-persistent-static-route.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
