# tb640debug

tb640debug takes a snapshot of the whole Toolpack system and its Tmedia units and writes it to .dmp files for TelcoBridges support.

### What is tb640debug

tb640debug is a debug tool that takes a snapshot of the whole system. It generates system dump files (`.dmp`) that contain the configuration and status of the Toolpack system and of the Tmedia units connected to it.

{% hint style="info" %}
tb640debug is not the same tool as [Tbdebug](/other-pages/operations/tbdebug.md). tb640debug produces an instant snapshot of the system state. Tbdebug gathers application logs, IP captures and call recordings over an acquisition period.
{% endhint %}

### Application location

The binary is in:

```
[InstallDir]/[PackageVersion]/bin/release/[Platform]/
```

Example for version 2.9.29 on CentOS 64-bit:

```
/lib/tb/toolpack/pkg/2.9.29/bin/release/x86_64-linux64/tb640debug
```

### How to use tb640debug

Run the tool with the `-ALL` option to capture all adapters and applications at the same time:

```
tb640debug -ALL
```

### Retrieving the results

When the application has finished, the dump files (`.dmp`) are created in the directory the tool was launched from. Download them and send them to the TelcoBridges support team.

Example file names:

```
tb640_TB004386_2012_9_6-12h51m49.dmp
CC-160.tb.ISUP_CTRL_ISUP_S_toolpack_engine_2012_9_6-12h51m49.dmp
```

### Options

```
tb640debug -help
Usage: tb640debug [-h] [-append] [-all] [-ALL] [-gw port]
     -h:       Skip querying host information
     -append:  Don't add date to dump file name, append to previous
     -all:     Print info for all adapters/applications sequentially
     -ALL:     Print info for all adapters/applications simultaneously
     -gw:      Use specified port instead of TBX_GW_PORT variable
     -adapter: Print info for specified adapter
```

{% hint style="info" %}
A [TBReport](/configuration/web-portal-3-3/troubleshooting/tbreport/tbreport.md) created from the web portal already includes the tb640debug output, along with the application logs and a configuration backup.
{% endhint %}

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://tmediadocs.telcobridges.com/other-pages/operations/tb640debug.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
